Clean Energy Not Clear-Cut
(Disclaimer: this blog mainly addresses the auto and transportation industry, but the concepts apply to those in the energy industry (coal and electric power) as well) I get it, I really do. People want to save the planet, clean up the ozone, cease pollution and save the whales. It’s a noble cause, for sure, but at what price? At what point should we interrupt the natural ebb and...

What's the Point of Voting if It Doesn't Count...
What’s point of voting? I mean seriously? I’m sorry, but I’m a bit pissed off right now. You see, here in Oklahoma, we recently had a prop passed that blocks the consideration of Islamic (Sharia) law in regards to court cases. What does that mean? Well, here’s a actual example: A few years ago, an Islamic man and his wife were having marital problems. The woman did not...
CNBC’s Remington 700 Documentary A Clean Miss - ...
Editor’s Note: In light of the recent controversial CNBC program that deemed Remington Model 700 rifles unsafe, we asked Rifles Editor and Gun Nut blogger David E. Petzal to view the broadcast and offer his thoughts in this extended post. Petzal, a 54-year shooter, NRA Certified Rifle Instructor, former Army Drill Sergeant, and one the country’s foremost gun authorities, had this to say: On...

The Duck Blind
Our typical hunting property here in California is the Colorado River zone. No monster buck or big toms, but the upland and waterfowling is great. Th only problem is, because its a river, the water level rises and falls by some 5-15 feet every few hours. This is especially challenging when it comes to erecting a working duck blind. Most previous attempts have ended in them being washed away or...

Arizona law isn't anything new...
Critics argue that Arizona’s new immigration law unfairly singles out immigrants and makes them carry their immigrant ID with them at all times. They say that it will lead to racial profiling. Well, first off, that doesn’t even make sense, since you can’t profile “illegal.” You can’t be prejudiced against “illegal.” Plain foolishness. Well, liberals...

A little bit of space to breathe...
So, me being me, the city was getting to me and I needed some space to breathe, which is why we headed out (very last minute) to the river this weekend. Haven’t been able to relax like that in a LONG time. No watches, no schedules, nothing. Did some badly-needed yard work, which oddly enough, I find very relaxing: Spent some quality time with a line in the water. Meet Roger the...

Update: Expect the Unexpected
While I frequently post fun pictures and articles, I rarely give a written update about what’s going on, where we are, and how life is. So this is that update. Probably won’t happen for a while, so if you’re interested, this is it. We’re still in California – unfortunately. L The goal was to be gone by later this year, but well, the Lord works in mysterious ways. The OC Fairgrounds where...

Still nervous about the census?
For anyone wanting to refuse the census, for reference I have attached the note I included in my census form after answering question number 1 only. Also, for anyone wanting justification as to why the census is wrong, here you go: http://nickparsonsproject.com/nervous-about-the-census Posted via email from Nick Parsons Project | Comment »
Sometimes early mornings hurt.
Everything about AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” might make it one of rock’s greatest anthem.

Amazing first day of work. The company rocks and totally takes care of their employees. Can’t wait to get all settled.
Costa Mesa smells like tacos.
If I hear 1 more commercial from that nut Meg Whitman I’m going 2 punch a baby. Never held office b4 and already running smear campaigns.
First time commuting in over 2.5 years. Definitely took my 30 second commute for granted. At least the drive is gorgeous - for now.

RT @nerdsrocket: “Don’t put your gold in the mail. Don’t sell your gold in a hotel room.” Really? Is that a common problem?
Just saw @toyota recall vids. Love how they claim its extremely rare, then claim they’ve repaired 50k/ cars a day for weeks. Thats not rare.

Nervous About the Census?
The upcoming census makes me nervous. Very nervous. It’s yet another thing the Federal government attempts to force us to participate in. 95% of the upcoming census is COMPLETELY unconstitutional. According to Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution, “Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting...
My wife froze the thin mints, and thus reaffirmed why I entered into the marriage covenant with her. Good stuff.
Workin hard all week puts the beer on the table…
Is anyone else wondering where Farrah Fawcett was in last night’s Memoriam section of the Oscars? Seriously insulting…
Haha. Lil’ Wayne is SOOOO gonna get his scrawny ass kicked in jail. Can’t wait for the headlines.
RT @nerdsrocket: Every aspect of this is weirder than the last. Woman pulled over for shaving… down there. http://keysnews.com/node/21349
